Crime Alerts are issued to inform the UNT Dallas community about significant incidents that may pose a threat to the safety of students, faculty, and staff. These alerts provide timely information and safety tips to help you stay safe.

Recent Crime Alerts

Clery Act Compliance

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), the UNT Dallas Police Department is required to:

• Publish an Annual Security Report (ASR): This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by UNT Dallas, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
• Maintain a Daily Crime Log: This log records all crimes reported to the UNT Dallas Police Department.
• Issue Timely Warnings: These warnings are issued for crimes that pose a serious or ongoing threat to the safety of students and employees.
• Provide Emergency Notifications: These notifications are issued for significant emergencies or dangerous situations involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees.

Types of Crimes or Incidents Requiring Alerts

Emergency Notifications

Issued for any significant emergency or dangerous situation involving an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees. Examples include:

• Natural disasters (e.g., tornadoes, earthquakes)
• Active shooter situations
• Hazardous material spills
• Outbreaks of serious illness

Timely Warnings

Issued for Clery Act crimes that pose a serious or ongoing threat to the campus community. Examples include:

• Criminal homicide (murder and non-negligent manslaughter)
• Sexual assault (rape, fondling, incest, statutory rape)
• Robbery
• Aggravated assault
• Burglary
• Motor vehicle theft
• Arson
• Dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking
