How to Join
Membership in a fraternity or sorority is considered to be a privilege, and with this privilege, comes responsibility to perform in a manner that exemplifies the ideals of UNT Dallas and the values of the organization that your chapter is chartered and founded upon. Each organization takes new members at different times throughout the year and welcomes all students. We hope you explore all of your options and build a lifelong legacy. Each fraternity or sorority hosts their own recruitment events and has individual requirements for membership. If a student is interested in a specific organization he/she may contact the chapter's president or attend a chapter-sponsored event.

Eligibility Requirements
An individual interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at UNT Dallas must:
- be enrolled as a full-time student in good standing with the university
- AND have a minimum of a 2.5 Cumulative GPA*
*some chapters do require a higher GPA
In addition, we ask that all new members complete our Fraternity & Sorority Life (Greek/FSL) 101 Certification.
Each individual chapter also has its own set of requirements, such as dues, letters of recommendation, etc.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most of our chapters will host intake or recruitment once a year or semester. This varies between chapters. For specific chapter questions, please contact the chapter.
The short answer to this question is that it is ultimately your preference. Each organization is founded on different beliefs and values. In addition, each also has its own benefits and advantages. It's important for utilize the national website of each organization to learn more about what each of our chapters stand for. You can also utilize events like Meet the Greeks to ask chapters questions about their philanthropy, values, programs, notable members, and benefits.
Membership fees are common among student organizations. There is a cost associated with joining a fraternity or sorority, and this cost will vary across organizations. However, keep in mind costs also cover membership benefits.
If a chapter is not listed, that means it is not chartered at UNT Dallas. A charter is issued by the headquarters of an organization and is collaboratively established with the university's assistance and permission.
