Move-In Information

Move-In Dates

• Fall 2026: Friday, August 21, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
• Spring 2027: Friday, January 8 at 8 a.m.–January 11

Instructions will be sent to each student’s UNT Dallas email account.

Before Move-In

• Submit proof of Renter’s Insurance. Coverage is required for all residents.
• Review what is included in your room and shared spaces.
• Review the Residence Life Packing Checklist.
• Coordinate shared items with your roommate or suitemate after receiving their contact information.

What to Pack

• Prescription medications, thermometer, first-aid kit, and personal health supplies
• Cleaning and laundry supplies
• Computer, tablet, television, cellphone, chargers, surge protector, and fan
• Flashlight, batteries, water, nonperishable food, and at least a three-day supply of medications
• A heavy-duty lock if bringing a bicycle

Room Decorations

Use removable products such as painter’s tape or 3M Command Strips. Do not remove university furniture, paint the room, or hang fabric from walls or ceilings. Christmas lights and adhesive lights are prohibited.

Prohibited Items

• Extension cords
• Extra furniture
• Sunlamps, halogen lamps, slow cookers, toaster ovens, hot plates, space heaters, air fryers, and appliances with exposed heating elements
• Candles, incense, wall plug-ins, and flammable liquids
• Cooking knives; approved food-preparation knives are available from the Front Desk for use in the Community Kitchen
• Amplified instruments and drum sets
• Illegal drugs
• Weapons, firearms, BB guns, air guns, hunting equipment, knives, martial arts weapons, stun guns, paint-pellet guns, fireworks, and explosives

Violations may be referred through the UNT Dallas disciplinary process and may affect Housing eligibility.

Mail and Packages

Use this address format:

Housing will assign your mailbox number. Do not use “P.O. Box,” a room number, or the Residence Hall name. Mail without a mailbox number will be returned to the sender.

Parking

Purchase a resident permit through the Parking Office.
