From fresh coats of paint in classrooms to finishing touches on our new STEM building – and even two new apps for students – the UNT Dallas main campus is buzzing with activity as we prepare to welcome Trailblazers for an exciting Fall 2025 semester.

Prospective students can apply through Monday, August 11, so there's still time to submit the necessary documents, attend orientation and start or continue their college journey.
UNT Dallas offers dozens of majors, degree programs and certificates and students can customize their class schedule so it fits their busy lives. All the information needed to apply can be found on our Undergraduate Admissions page, the Dallas Transfer Collaborative website, or our Graduate School page.
Classes begin on Monday, August 25 – and any admitted but unregistered students should enroll as soon as possible. With Express Registration, students can enroll themselves on MyUNTD.edu or schedule an Express Registration appointment with an advisor who can assist them in choosing their courses.

Many financial aid and scholarship options exist, and students with questions can make a virtual appointment with a financial aid counselor on this form. The goal is to make the enrollment process as fast, easy and convenient as possible.
Once registered, students should check the Fall 2025 Academic Calendar for important dates, such as the deadline for adding or dropping classes, and the schedule for mid-terms, final exams and holidays. Scroll down for Welcome Week dates and information.
This year, there’s a new online service for parking permits called AIMS that we share with UNT in Denton (that’s why you’ll see green on the AIMS website). AIMS is user-friendly for students who are driving to and from campus and need to buy a permit. If students are using public transportation, DART’s Higher Education Pass can be purchased using the GoPass app.

Speaking of apps, there are two new apps that very student should download. Both will help navigate campus life – from academics to extracurriculars. The first one is UNTGo! It integrates information about classes, grades, activities and more – from all three UNT System campuses. Download it for Apple or Android here.
The second one is TrailblazersLIVE. It lets students join campus organizations, register for events and track their service hours. Download it for Apple or Android here. With these two apps, students have access to an incredible amount of information and should be able to get most of their questions answered right on their phone.

A lot has happened during the summer. Dr. Warren von Eschenbach was officially appointed UNT Dallas President by the UNT System Board of Regents, after serving in the position temporarily since April 2024. Dr. Milan Sevak was named Associate Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation and will oversee a new Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success. Keenah Lambert has joined the university as its first General Manager of Athletics and Otis Nicksion was recently hired as Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Also over the summer, ScholarShot awarded UNT Dallas with the highest grade on its Texas University Report Card and named the university "most improved" over last year. ScholarShot is a Dallas-based educational nonprofit dedicated to improving access to college for first-generation students. It offers a proven method of advising high school students and matching them with the best college or university for their individual needs and goals.

UNT Dallas was also recognized by the Dallas County Promise and the Commit Partnership. The university received their Economic Mobility Award for its high degree completion rate among students who transferred from Dallas College. A Dallas County Promise Scholarship can cover the entire cost of tuition and fees for students seeking a four-year degree. The Commit Partnership is an organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities not only for college students, but those at other levels, including K-12.
In June, the Texas Legislature approved the university’s funding for the next two years, including $7 million for Classroom-to-Career programs that will help ensure student readiness and success. And the Dallas City Council approved a partnership with UNT Dallas to build a Police Academy and Criminal Justice Center on campus for training, development and collaboration on public safety.

Our Graduate School office has moved to a new location on the first floor of Founders Hall near the staircase. Other offices and departments have also moved, so be sure to verify their building and room numbers when you return to campus.
The Fall semester will be full of academic opportunities, extra-curricular activities and expressions of our Trailblazer pride. The opening of the new state-of-the-art STEM Building promises to be the highlight. It will transform the campus with innovative classrooms, labs and collaborative spaces primarily geared toward healthcare professions. The building will open late in the year in time for Spring semester classes that start Jan. 12, 2026.

Welcome Week runs from Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29 with lots of activities and events. For the first time, there will also be a Welcome Weekend featuring Trailblazer Takeoff on Saturday, August 23. If Fall 2025 is your first semester enrolled at UNT Dallas, this event is for you! Register here and experience campus life before classes even begin. It’s an exciting time to get involved, get connected and be part of a growing UNT Dallas tradition.
Trailblazers Homecoming runs Sunday, October 26 through Saturday, November 1 and features the Men’s Basketball home opener on Thursday, October 30, followed by the Women’s Basketball home opener on Saturday, November 1. Be sure to follow all of our Trailblazers on the UNTD Athletics Instagram and X pages.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
